Home' Spice Magazine : SPICE FEB 2016 Contents The past 12 months have been a tremendous
journey for Trippas White Group (TWG), with
several retail venue and event space openings
in iconic locations, new partnerships and a perma-
nent movement into large scale events.
Over the last two years, TWG has been working
hard on an innovative strategy that is seeing the new
direction for the company come to fruition. Two years
ago, our 'Three Pillars of Diversity' were created to
define our organisation, and is a strategic structure
that helps increase our company's footprint -- both in
geographical reach and breadth of industries in which
we operate. Our three pillars include: Business and In-
dustry Services; Retail and Venue Services; and Tourism
Services. The foundations of this strategy were built
on a genuine desire to foster a culture of innovation,
creativity, customer focus and operational excellence.
Over the last year, TWG has grown its Retail and
Venues portfolio to include iconic locations and
venues like, The Avalon on the Beach at the Avalon
Surf Life Saving Club; a space with spectacular
ocean views, proving to be popular for weddings
and special birthdays. In addition to doing a roaring
trade in the Kiosk and restaurant.
In Brisbane, TWG transformed a New Farm
institution -- giving WATT a multi-million dollar
renovation including a new brand, look, team and
introduction of food concept, New Farmer's Kitch-
en.Using the freshest seasonal produce in its rustic,
industrial urban menu, New Farmer's Kitchen has a
strong focus on produce to plate, traveling from city,
sea and bush to take diners on a journey into the
hearts of our Australian farmers.
Back in Sydney, TWG immersed itself in the arts
community recently, with the Sydney Opera House
appointing us to operate the Western Foyers dining,
theatre bars and events spaces with head chef,
Lauren Murdoch at the helm. Over summer we
activated an Italian Riviera themed pop-up bar on
the edge of Sydney Harbour.
Roslyn Packer Theatre also appointed us as their
exclusive hospitality partner, servicing its three main
theatre bars and an array of event spaces. We also
took over the Hickson Road Bistro space, launch-
ing Walsh Bay Kitchen; a new restaurant and bar
opening its doors to the heart of Sydney's vibrant
Arts District. The sleek new fit out pays homage to
its theatrical setting, oozing mood and drama.
Heading to the Sydney Airport, in an exclusive
partnership with Heinemann, Trippas White Group
has opened Bridge Bar and launching Coast Café
at Sydney Airport to be completed February 2016.
Partnering with one of Australia's leading chefs and
restaurateurs, Luke Mangan to create the menus.
Our new food concepts will change the way passen-
gers relate to Sydney Airport's shopping and dining
experience. Both unique concepts will at last give
Sydney Airport a competitive edge, raising the entire
standards and reputation of this world-class airport.
This move into airports is not a new thing for
TWG, as we were recently appointed Singapore
Airlines, 'Silver Kris' First and Business Class food
services and housekeeping partner, being awarded
both Sydney and Brisbane Silver Kris Lounges and
most recently Perth.
In 2016, TWG has moved into more permanently
into Major Events with the appointment of Antoine
Bessis of Diner en Blanc fame, who will be the cre-
ative force behind our events series. In its inaugural
year, A Moveable Feast consists of four annual
experiential events, each with a tailored gastronomic
angle, festive exploration and playful dress code in
Sydney. March this year will see TWG launch the
first event in the 'Moveable Feast' series to be held
on Bondi Beach, with a pastel chic themed picnic
on Saturday March 12. Followed up with the Winter
Wonderland event to be held mid this year.
The Canberra market has seen the AIS part-
nership take off with the support of the Canberra
Convention Bureau (CCB). In March this year, CCB
will run 'Top Secret Famils' that will showcase the
event capabilities of the AIS. Famil attendees will be
surprised what this facility has to offer beyond the
obvious sporting activities.
Just months after opening its doors, The Lookout
Echo Point's wine bar, Bar NSW, took home two tro-
phies at the 2015 NSW Wine List Awards as part of the
Savour AustraliaTM Restaurant and Catering Hostplus
Awards for Excellence 2015. The winning list was
created by our very own Group Sommelier, Andres
Argon, supported by The Lookout Venue Manager, Tim
Peterson and is one of the first ever to include wines
sourced only from New South Wales vineyards.
So with iconic venues and event spaces across
Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra, Trippas White
Group is a one stop shop for small, medium to large
scale events, with big plans for 2016. n
